Dumaguete joins 114th Independence Day celebration

TOP officials of the Dumaguete City government led the celebration of the 114th Independence Day held at Quezon Park on Tuesday.
Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria together with Vice Mayor Alan Gel Cordova led the floral offering at the Rizal’s monument.
Other top officials of the Department of Education, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Army, Philippine National Police and other National Government agencies, people’s and non-government organizations also joined the floral offering.
Representatives of the persons with disabilities also offered flowers at the Rizal’s monument.
The celebration started with the ringing of Church’s bell, guns salute and blowing of siren.
It was followed by the floral offering and raising of the Philippine flag with Negros Oriental State University (Norsu) band followed by the recitation of the “Panatang Makabayan.”
The members of the Knights of Rizal also led the salute of the Philippine flag.
