THE Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) is partnering with Foundation University (FU) to launch the National Rice Year 2013 during the "Rice is Life" Dumaguete Adventure Marathon (DAM) on November 18, according to FU Advancement Officer Joel Llanos.
Llanos said the marathon is seen as an ideal event to launch the NRY because of its advocacy for rice conservation.
After the marathon, a cooking festival, which will be participated by various schools in Negros Oriental, will be held.
Llanos said PhilRice has been a regular partner of FU in its advocacy for national rice sufficiency.
