THE Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Dumaguete City acquitted an alleged drug pusher who was arrested in a buy-bust operation more than two years ago.
RTC Branch 30 Judge Rafael Cresencio Tan Jr. ordered the immediate release of Michael Grapa after he was acquitted in the crime of pushing and possessing marijuana.
Court records show that on December 2, 2009 Grapa allegedly sold a joint of marijuana to a poseur buyer in a buy-bust operation conducted along Hibbard Avenue in Bantayan, Dumaguete City.
During his arrest, police authorities also recovered a pack of dried marijuana leaves, seeds, and stalks.
In his decision, Judge Tan ruled that the prosecution failed to establish concrete evidence against Grapa. (VLC)
