DUMAGUETE CITY -- After a successful three-day gathering in preparation for the executive-legislative agenda for Dumaguete City for 2014-2016, city officials are looking at the possibility of replicating some local government practices of Mandaue City in Cebu province.
Dumaguete Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria on Monday afternoon disclosed a successful and fruitful ELA workshop in Mandaue City recently, which he attended along with Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling Sr., city councilors, department heads and other key city officials.
According to the mayor, they were shown certain practices in Mandaue City that are worth copying, if funds would allow it.
“We saw how Mandaue City is being run and we are impressed,” Mayor Sagarbarria said.
He cited the P30-million funding allocation for a closed circuit television system in the city as well as a P40-million geographical information system.
On the third day of the ELA workshop, Dumaguete officials discussed concerns and issues faced by the city government and probable solutions to help guide both the executive and legislative bodies to guide them on what to do in the next three years of his administration, the mayor added. (PNA)
