Congressman: PDAF remains in another name-A A +A
Wednesday, December 4, 2013
THE controversial Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of the lawmakers will remain but in another name, said Negros Oriental (2nd district) Representative George Arnaiz.
Arnaiz said that based on a proposal, although there are changes in the provisions, the PDAF will still remain but will be changed to another name.
The congressman said the lawmakers should submit all proposed projects in their respective districts before the passage of the national budget in January 2014.
He said the special allotment release order should also be directed to the implementing agencies like the Department of Public Works and Highways for hard projects, Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Commission on Higher Education for soft projects.
The lawmakers should not direct the fund to the recipient Local Government Units especially to the Non-Government Organizations, he added. (Victor L. Camion)
