A MOTHER is still fighting for life and death following a grenade blast inside her house located at Gawad Kalinga Village in Candau-ay, Dumaguete City, Saturday dawn.
The victim identified as Elvie Baldoza is now confined at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital due to injuries in the different parts of the body.
Baldoza’s body bath with bloods shouting for help right after the blast, a neighbour Blas Libaton told Sun.Star.
Libaton’s house is situated fronting the house of the victim.
He said he and his family woke up by a huge blast at around 4 in the morning.
Bloods stains flooded at the door’s step.
The victim’s house sustained damage especially her room.
The concrete flooring of the room was also damage due to the impact of the grenade blast.
The jealousy blades were also wreck.
The personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operative (SOCO) together with the Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) recovered the parts of the fragmentation grenade inside the house. Its safety pin was also seen outside the house.
Police investigators theorized that the assailant or assailants followed the victims when she arrived few minutes before the incident because the main door of the house is open.
The assailant positioned from outside thrown the grenade through the main door to the victim’s room.
The victim worked as kasambahay in a Korean Family in Bagacay Village is living along in her house. Her sons and daughter are in Mabinay town.
She also served as treasurer of the Home Owners’ Association, said Jaime Abellar, president of the GK Village Home Owners’ Association.
The police probers are yet to determine the motive of the incident.
