NEGROS Oriental Governor Emilio C. Macias II is confident the Provincial Government will be able to finish the construction of 120 additional classrooms all over the province in time for the start of the school year in June.
The governor was speaking to more than 3,000 participants to the Balik Eskwela caravan which was initiated by the Department of Education (DepEd).

In his message, Macias lauded the conduct of the caravan which was aimed at getting everybody involved in the education of the children.
According to the governor, the Provincial Government has been very responsive to the programs of DepEd in making sure children should be in school rather than in the streets.
Some of these support mechanisms include the Basta NegOr Education 104 that intends to open 120 additional classrooms this year.
Macias is hoping that Education Secretary Jesli Lapus will make good his promise of assigning one teacher item for every classroom built by the provincial government over and above the usual allotment of teachers in Negros Oriental.
At present, 62 classrooms have been completed and the rest are in the stages of completion, while 13 others are yet to be built. (PNA/Sunnex)
