The Negros Oriental State University has produced two topnotchers and a 100% passing rate in the Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination conducted in Manila last October 14 and 15.
University President Dr. Henry A. Sojor said the two topnotchers are Winston B. Gomez,
2nd place, with a rating of 90.70%; and Jephunneh A. Paalisbo, 7th place, with a rating of 89.05%.

Gomez is a resident of Banilad, Dumaguete City while Paalisbo is from Lazi, Siquijor.
Seven examinees took the licensure exam and all of them passed – giving a 100% passing rate for NORSU as compared to the National Passing Percentage of 56.43%.
Engr. Roberto M. Antonio, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture in a report to Dr. Sojor said that of the 2,006 examinees nationwide, only 1,132 passed the licensure exam.
The other five successful examinees are Alfredo I. Alvarado Jr. (Mabinay, Negros Oriental), Aljezer D. Dizon (Candau-ay, Dumaguete City), Wilan B. Garsola (Bais City), Noel T. Los Banos (Jawa, Valencia, Negros Oriental), and Javier J. Tabangan (Bacong, Negros Oriental).
