THE City Government of General Santos, in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Smed Council, concluded the month-long Yaman Gensan celebration at the Gaisano Mall Atrium on Wednesday.
The celebration was capped with the 3rd Young Entrepreneur Fair, participated by various colleges and universities in the city, including the Mindanao State University, Holy Trinity College, South Rannex College, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College, and AMA College and Learning Center.

City Councilor Lourdes Casabuena, who delivered Mayor Pedro Acharon's speech, said the City Government is very grateful with the initiative of DTI in tapping the talent and ability of young individuals in the city by coming up with an event that showcases the student's knowledge in entrepreneurship.
"Youth of today are the future leaders and entrepreneurs of the country and it is important that they are exposed in this kind of activity to further shape their ability," Casabuena, who is also the president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC), said.
During the closing ceremonies, winners for the Best Product, Best Business Plan, and Best Dressed Booth by the participating students from various schools, were recognized and were given cash prizes for their hardwork.
Casabuena said the activity did not only showcase the entrepreneurial skills of the students, but also displayed empowerment and inspiration for other people, especially the young ones.
