KORONADAL CITY -- Four towns in North Cotabato have been chosen as beneficiaries of a project worth P8.5 million funded under the Republic of the Philippines-Japan grant for underprivileged farmers.
Teresita Socorro C. Ramos, acting regional director of the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda), said last week the project seeks to promote productivity development in rural areas.

The beneficiaries of the project are the towns of Kabacan, M'lang, Tulunan and Pikit. The project's implementor is the Maguindanaon Development Foundation Inc.
Buenaventura Pacania, Kabacan planning and development coordinator, said the project includes small-scale community-based environmental rehabilitation and conservation initiatives for clustered area within the vicinity of Liguasan Marsh.
The target date for completing the project is December 2009. (BSS)
