SOME 100 delegates from the public and private sectors in Western Visayas Region attended the regional conference of the provincial micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Councils (MSMED) conducted on June 28-29 in Iloilo City.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Dominic Abad said the conference provided a venue for sharing strategies among councils supporting the development of the different priority sectors in the six provinces of the region.
SMEs in the region identified at least four enterprises like loom weaving, muscovado sugar, coconut oil and processed food as sunshine industry but needs financial and technical support.
