ILOILO City government will honor top 20 business corporations, 20 individual business taxpayers and 20 real property taxpayers Wednesday at the Amigo Terrace Hotel in the city.

An exhaustive selection process was conducted by the city treasurer’s office headed by city treasurer Katherine Tingzon to ensure that all taxpayers were given due recognition by the City Government.

Awardees for the top 20 business corporations for calendar year 2008 are Panay Electric Company, Supervalue Inc. Mandurriao Star, Metro Manila Shopping Mecca Corp., Philippine Foremost Milling Corp., Panay Power Corp., Iloilo Supermart inc., Carlos Uy Corp., Heva Management & Development Corp., Mercury Drug, Zuellig Pharma, La Filipina Uygongco Corp., SM City Mandurriao, Megavia Corp., San Miguel Brewery, Sun Life of Canada, Philippine Long Distance Telecommunications, BPI Family Bank, e-PLDT Ventus, and San Miguel Foods Corp.

The top 20 individual business taxpayers are George Que of Iloilo GQ Enterprises, Manuel Yu Po, Systemic Farm Chemicals; Samuel So Jr., Marlusa Construction Supply; Marcelino Florete Jr., F&C Pawnshop & Jewelry Store; Thelma KLim, Iloilo Central Lumber & Hardware; James Young, Northern Iloilo Lumber & Hardware; Edgar Sia II, Mang Inasal; Ma. The top 20 real property taxpayers are Panay Power Corp., SM Prime Holdings Corp., Avon River Power Holdings Corp., Heva Management Development Corp., Robinsons Land Corp., Juan Jamora Jr. Enterprises Inc., Shoemart Inc., Philippine Foremost Milling Corp., Panay Electric Company Inc., La Filipina Uygongco Corp., QHP Realty Corp., Marcelino Florete Jr., and other owners of Iloilo Grand Hotel, Romeo Go and Jill T. Go, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Eduardo L. Montinola Corp., James T. Young and Benita Go Young, Star Group Resources & Development Corp., Pilipinas Makro Inc.; and Fine Rock Development Corp.

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said the giving of recognition is a form of incentive to taxpayers who are partners of the city in development.
