ILOILO City Mayor Jerry Treñas signed an executive order creating a multi-sectoral coalition that would address the city's problem on air pollution and climate change.
Iloilo City Coalition on Clean Air and Climate Change was formed to "promote multi-sectoral collaboration of citizens in concerted efforts to ensure clean air and ecological balance in Iloilo City for today and in the future."

Coalition members include a representative from the transport, energy, business, academe, non-government organization, national government agency and local government unit.
Top officials of the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) headed by Dr. Roland Haas have expressed interest to observe the coalition's launching in mid February.
An action plan to address the problem on air pollutants and green house gas emissions will be drafted during the coalition's official launch. The action plan will promote a cleaner air for the city and its population.
Engineer Noel Hechanova, who was designated as the coalition chairman, said the alliance will provide policy recommendations in support of the city's clean air and climate change initiatives. A representative from the health sector was designated as Hechanova's co-chairman.
Hechanova said the coalition will also coordinate with the Metro Iloilo Airshed Government Board chaired by Treñas.
The coalition envisions Iloilo City as "a city of clean air and blue skies with a citizenry committed to sustain a balanced environment."
"We share pollution, we share responsibilities," is the coalition's tagline.
