ILOILO City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and members of the Market Committee will hold another dialogue consultation with legitimate central market vendors on Wednesday, September 24, as part of his continuing consultation with market vendors held every last Wednesday of the month.
City Administrator Norlito Bautista said the dialogue hopes to bring out apprehensions of legitimate vendors and their right to space if the new central market be built in the same area.

THE Iloilo City Government has ordered the repair of two boilers and the purchase of one delivery van to ferry the cleaned mead from the abattoir to the markets, following complaints from meat processors on the defective boilers and delayed delivery from the slaughterhouse at Tacas, Jaro district.
City Administrator Norlito Bautista said the repaired boiler is now operating at the slaughterhouse since evening of Wednesday, September 17, while another one is still being repaired.

THE Department of Tourism (DOT) in Iloilo City said China’s travel ban for the Philippines is affecting the tourism industry in Boracay.
DOT regional director Helen J. Catalbas said the travel ban affected massive cancellations of more than 20,000 hotel room bookings of Chinese tourists from September 13, 2014 to March 2015 and approximately lost some P165 million in Boracay alone.

THE Iloilo City Council approved on first reading the report on a proposed ordinance creating the city's Local Youth Development Council as presented by the committee on youth and sports development chaired by Councilor Nielex Tupas.

THE Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office (TMTRO) was able to get P5.384 million from fines collected from erring drivers from January to August 2014.
Donna Lyn Rose Acap, TMTRO officer-in-charge for Operation, showed to the committee on transportation this week the total collection performance for apprehended and released drivers licenses in eight months as compared to P5.124 million collected for the same period in 2013.

THE Iloilo City Council committee on infrastructure will conduct on Thursday, September 18, an ocular inspection of at least four major ongoing road projects implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

THE Iloilo City mayor ordered the immediate release of P200,000 for the repair of two boilers that bogged down the city slaughterhouse in the village of Tacas, Jaro district for more than a week.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the slaughterhouse was not yet turned over by the National Meat Inspection Commission (NMIC) of the Agriculture department because there are still many deficiencies to be fixed.

A TRAFFIC aide in Iloilo City died on duty after he was hit by a delivery truck on Corner Iznart and Delgado Streets around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
Miguel de Asis Jr., 51, a resident of the village of Caingin, La Paz district, was on his afternoon and night shift duty when he was rammed by the truck driven by Gilbert Segunla, 19, a shopping bagger who was practicing to drive during the incident.
