Treñas said Congress, of which he is a member of the committee on appropriations, has approved the Philippine National Police (PNP) procurement program for firearms to policemen in the entire country.
The firearms for the Icpo will be most probably .9mm Gloc on top of other requests for patrol cars, handsets and motorcycles which the PNP will include its procurement for the Icpo personnel.
A total of 100 handsets for the Icpo will also be purchased from the priority development assistance fund of Treñas.
Mabilog said the city will purchase additional motorcycles and patrol cars within the year on top of firearms purchased last year for the Icpo.
