City expects truckloads of garbage after festival

ILOILO CITY – At least 50 truckloads of garbage are expected to be collected in the Dinagyang Festival highlights on January 11-21, a committee exec said.
Engr. Raul Gallo, chair of the Dinagyang Sanitation Committee, however, assured their committee is ready to clean the city after the revelry.
Gallo said 116 public service personnel and 24 trucks will be deployed to immediately clean the city after the celebration. Portalets will also be provided.

Several volunteer groups, like the Romac janitorial services, are also willing to help in cleaning the area at the Freedom Grandstand.
Gallo also said the Iloilo City policemen are ordered to implement environmental laws, especially on anti-littering and anti-smoking during the festival.
