Board of Trustees to select city college personnel

THE newly created Board of Trustees will select and screen the teaching staff and personnel of the Iloilo City Community College as the school is set to open by June 2012.
City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said he is still looking for additional two trustees on top of the four recently named.

The city mayor will act as temporary college president and board chairman with City Councilor Plaridel Nava, chairman of the committee on education as vice chairman.
Initial personnel will include 14 teachers, one college dean, one cashier, one librarian and five other workers.
The initial members of the Board of Trustees are retired city school superintendent Erlinda Gencaya, former city councilor Erlinda Liberiaga, businessman Joel Adrias representing the school donor Edar “Injap” Sia and Professor Dr. Mary Ann Gumban.
The school will offer a two-year laderrized office and travel management courses accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and another two years to complete the 4-year diploma courses.
The school offer subsidized tuition at P100 per unit and will accept an initial 100 deserving students from city public high schools. (Lydia C. Pendon)
