2 hospitals get P3-million aid

SENATOR Teofisto “TG” Guingona III awarded P3 million to two government hospitals in Iloilo City to help indigent persons gain access to proper health care and medicines.
A memorandum of agreement was signed Friday between Guingona, Western Visayas Medical Center chief Dr. Jose Fermin and Western Visayas State University Medical Center chief Dr. Ramon Guerra for a P1.5-million assistance each hospital will receive.

The funding assistance was taken from the senator’s priority development assistance fund.
Guingona said the government should make an investment in priority areas such as health care and education. The poor and marginalized sector should get direct, immediate and substantial assistance from the government. (Lydia C. Pendon)
