THE US Embassy in Manila invites students from Western Visayas to participate in the writing competition called the America in 3D Kabataan Challenge.

The writing competition is part of the “America in 3D: A Roadshow in Diplomacy, Development, and Defense” program that will visit Iloilo on March 2-4.

The Embassy information showed that the contest is open to students aged 13 and older who are currently enrolled in any school in Western Visayas including the provinces of Aklan, Negros Occidental, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras and Iloilo.

To join, participants must submit a 50-word answer (in English) to the question “How can Filipino and American youth work together to make the world a better place?”

US Embassy Public Affairs Counselor Robin Diallo said the writing competition is an opportunity for Filipino youth to speak their minds and share their vision about how they can work together with their American peers for the greater good.

Deadline for submission of entries is on Monday, February 20. The authors of the top three submissions will be awarded special prizes.

However, winners must provide their own transportation to SM City Iloilo.

For more information, please visit the US Embassy Manila Facebook page, click “Like,” and then click on the tab entitled America in 3D. Entries must be original work. (Lydia C. Pendon)
