GOVERNOR Arthur Defensor Sr. urged high school students to spend their vacant time at the multi-purpose teen center since it is valuable in the education of the youth.
Defensor made the appeal in front of the students of Pavia National High School (PNHS) during the inauguration of the multi-purpose teen center in the said school Wednesday.
“The multi-purpose teen center is crucial…it is the key to see the magic of education,” Defensor told the students.
The Provincial Government allotted P200,000 for the establishment of the multi-purpose teen center at PNHS.
The inauguration was attended by Second District Board Members Demy Sonza and June Mondejar, Pavia Mayor Arcadio Gorriceta, Population Commission VI regional director Vicente Molejona, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Reynaldo Gico and the faculty and staff of PNHS.
Last February 22, Defensor also inaugurated the multi-purpose teen center for the fourth district at Rufino J. Palabrica Sr. Memorial National High School in Dingle.
The three other teen centers to be inaugurated are: Nicomedes Tubar Sr. Memorial National High School in San Dionisio (March 1); Lambunao National High School (March 6); and Oton National High School (March 7).
Earlier, Defensor assured continued support to the project as he vowed to put up five more multi-purpose teen centers this year.
The multi-purpose teen centers will serve as a venue and facility where the adolescents, students and out-of-school youths can develop their potentials as individuals.
It will be equipped with reading materials and other educational and recreation facilities.
The center will be manned by the respective guidance counselors of the schools with the assistance of trained student peer helpers. (PR)
