THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Iloilo Provincial Government distributed Wednesday water jugs, face towels and mats for the 1,670 day care centers in the province.
The project is part of DSWD’s Supplemental Feeding Program through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
Governor Arthur Defensor Sr., DSWD regional nutritionist Sally Gayoma, and PSWDO chief Dr. Neneth Pador distributed the supplies to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs), with some town mayors present.
Dr. Pador said each day care center will receive a water jug. The face towels and mats will be given to each of the 41,445 preschoolers.
Gayoma said P63,335,138.60 has already been released to Iloilo province for the Supplemental Feeding Program.
Supplemental Feeding Program is the provision of food, in addition to the regular meals, to Day Care Center pupils. The food supplementation is in the form of a hot meal to be served during snack/break time in the morning or afternoon session for five days a week for the period of 120 days. (PR)
