ILOILO City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has ordered the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) to conduct fast police action against rising criminalities in the city and resolve all pending cases since last week.
The order was given to Icpo chief, Senior Superintendent Marietto Valerio, and all police station commanders Thursday, March 1, as the city prepares several big events this weekend.
Valerio said he is requesting additional police contingent from the regional police office to help in maintaining peace and order during the America in 3D roadshow slated March 2-3 and the visit of American warship destroyer USS Chafee on March 3-4, 2012.
Valerio said that upon police investigations on several crime scenes this week, it was discovered that local crime perpetrators in series of robberies are now using high tech gadgets as shown by evidences recovered.
These high tech gadgets are on top of “dalugdog” or local bombs and improvised grenades.
Regarding militants protest against the 3D roadshow, Valerio said the local militants have no plans to start public disturbance even if they conduct pickets and rallies against the visiting US officials and US servicemen.
Valerio said he understood the peace and order concerns of Mabilog as the city is a contender in the new wonder cities of the world. He assured they are doing their best to curtail robbery cases and other criminalities.
