Passi City gears for Pintados de Pasi Festival 2012

THE City of Passi officially launched Monday the Pintados de Pasi Festival 2012 in celebration of its 14th Foundation Anniversary at SM City Iloilo.

The launching was highlighted by the presentation of the 12 candidates for the Search for Bb. Pintados 2012 and a brief performance of some tribes joining the Tribe Competition.

Pintados de Pasi Festival 2012 is slated on March 14-18 with the theme “Kulturang Passinhon: Balikdon kag Palanggaon.”

The festival highlights include Handuraw (Passinhons’ Golden Memories of Yesteryears) on March 14; Pinta Lawas (Body Painting) on March 15; Ginoong Pintados on March 15; Karosa Parada & Carabao Painting Contest on March 16; Grand Coronation of Bb. Pintados 2012 on March 16; A night of Mascots & Magicians with Ala Kim on March 17; Tribe Competition on March 18; fireworks display on March 18; and A night with the Stars on March 18.

Eight tribes will be competing for the festival, namely: Tribu Linaw, Tribu Buay-buay, Tribu Halawud, Tribu Pasi, Tribu Inyawan, Tribu Pula-pula, Tribu Hamungaya, and Tribu Pulakan.

Meanwhile, the 12 candidates for the Search for Bb. Pintados 2012 are Donna Isabella Fernandez, Kristine Joy Estrada, Jenny Rose Victoria, Lovette Arnejo, Michelle Marie Monte, Venus Krystelle Bayaron, Metchie Lyn Bacong, Chriscember Nuñez, Jeazelle Reyes, Claudine Marie Salmingo, Candelaria Evangelista and Jhoanne Tañada.

Pintados de Pasi Festival is being run by the Passinhon 2000 Inc. in cooperation with the City Government of Passi under the leadership of Mayor Jesry Palmares. (PR)
