Enhance security alert during Holy Week

ILOILO City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has alerted the Iloilo City Police Office and barangay officials to enhance their security measures during the Holy Week celebration and ensure police visibility and alert on checkpoints.

Mabilog also called on barangay residents to improve their security and safety in their homes and never to leave electrical appliances on, candles and other combustible materials when they go on vacation or join religious activities.

The city mayor also reminded the public never to leave their windows open for “akyat bahay” gangs during the Holy Week.

The city policemen will help maintain order at the pier entrance especially at Ortiz pier and at Fort San Pedro area for people going to Guimaras and back.

Mabilog said these alert measures will greatly help the city maintain peace and order.

The city mayor said everyone must enjoin in reflecting the life Jesus Christ during the Holy Week with any untoward accident like fire and house break-ins. (Lydia C. Pendon)
