CONSTRUCTION of the two-storey Iloilo City Hospital annex at the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) compound in Mandurriao district is now completed while construction of the third floor eyed as expansion area is ongoing.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the City Government will immediately provide the necessary equipment to utilize the two-storey building.
He said hospital services in the two-storey hospital building will give priority to poor families in Iloilo City, especially those with PhilHealth cards issued by the City Government.
Moreover, the City Health Office (Cho) headed by Dr. Urminico Baronda and the WVMC headed by hospital director Dr. Jose Ma. Fermin will jointly administer the city hospital with the deployment of Cho and WVMC personnel.
The contractor will turn over the two-storey building to Mabilog once the city mayor returns from Canada at the end of this month.
Meanwhile, construction of the third storey is ongoing to accommodate additional 22 beds. (LCP)
