40 top taxpayers honored

THE City Government of Iloilo is set to award the top 40 taxpayers and private partners on Thursday as part of its month-long celebration of the 75th Diamond Anniversary.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has designated city treasurer Katherine Tingson to lead the screening of the 20 real property taxpayers and another 20 business taxpayers who are considered as engines of growth in the city.
The awarding rites will be held at the Days Hotel at 6:30 p.m.
Tingson said the awards and recognition of top taxpayers of Iloilo City started in 2008 as an incentive to the private partners of growth and has been going on every year.
The top 20 real property taxpayers in no particular order are Panay Power Corp., Panay Energy Development Corp. and Panay Electric Co., all in the energy sector; Iloilo Grand Hotel Corp., Sarabia Manor Hotel Corp. and Romeo Go and Jill Go, in the mix hotel industry; Heva Management Development Corp., Juan Jamora Jr. Enterprises Inc., SM Land Inc., SM Prime Holdings Corp., Robinsons Land Corp. and La Filipina Uygongco Corp. in the mix shopping mall industry; Beaterio Del Santisimo de Molo, Avon River Holdings Corp., HCBC Land Development Corp., TTK Realty and Development Corp., Eduardo L. Montinola Corp., GHP Realty Corp., Jambe Resources and Development Corp., and Philippine Foremost Milling Corp.
The top 20 business taxpayers in no particular order in the city are BPI Family Savings Bank, Heva Management and Development Corp., Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Inc., Metro Manila Shopping Mecca Inc., Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), University of Iloilo, Panay Power Corp., Carlos Uy Corp., Mandurriao Star Inc., Panay Electric Co. Inc., Supervalue Inc. (Delgado Branch), Supervalue Inc. (Mandurriao Branch), Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp., Mercury Drug Corp., Isuzu Iloilo Corp., Zuellig Pharma Corp., La Filipina Uygongco Corp., Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., San Miguel Corp. and Philippine Foremost Milling Corp.
