Provincial Government to hold holy mass for Robredo-A A +A

THE Iloilo Provincial Government will be offering holy mass on Thursday for the untimely demise of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.
The mass will be held at the Provincial Capitol lobby around 8:30 a.m. It will be attended by Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. and other provincial officials and Provincial Government department heads and employees.
Also expected to attend are Police Regional Office 6 regional director Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz and personnel from various line agencies under the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The Provincial Government is joining the observance of the national days of mourning proclaimed by President Benigno Aquino III starting August 21 until Robredo’s interment.
The national flag in front of the Provincial Capitol has also been lowered to half-mast.
A Piper Seneca plane that carried Robredo, his aide Senior Insp. June Paolo Abrazado, Capt. Jessup Bahinting and his co-pilot Nepalese Kshitiz Chand crashed just short of Masbate airport last August 18, 2012.
Abrazado who survived the tragic accident was saved by a fisherman.
Robredo’s body was recovered three days after the crash while retrieval operations are still ongoing as of this posting Wednesday for the two pilots. (PR)
