Central bank honors Ilonggo stakeholders

ILOILO CITY – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) lauded three stakeholders in Western Visayas for their exemplary support to the bank’s statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs.
The 2012 awards ceremony and appreciation lunch for Ilonggo stakeholders was held Tuesday at the Days Hotel here.
BSP Monetary Board member Armando Suratos, Rosabel Guerrero of the BSP Department of Economic Statistics, and Director Maria Lux Berciles of the BSP Cebu regional office led the awarding.s
Waffle Time Inc. receives the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium firms for the Business Expectation Survey (BES).
Waffle Time was established in 1998 in this city as engaged in waffle making and is now distributed nationwide.
Ilonggo architect Johnny Que is the president of the company and is also engaged in the hotel business, supermarket and furniture making.
Another winner from Western Visayas is the 7 Stones Boracay Suites as the Outstanding Respondent among small firms in the region.
Located in the tourist island of Boracay in northern Aklan, the boutique hotel is headed by Jane Rossignol as general manager.
Also awarded was the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics provincial operations center in Negros Occidental as recognition for information sources for the Report on Regional Economic Development.
The provincial operations center is headed by agricultural statistics officer Joely Cabarles.
The BSP awarded a total of 67 stakeholders in the country that covers BES, cross border transaction survey, foreign direct investment survey, coordinated portfolio investment survey, survey on information technology-BPO services, recognition for information sources, overseas Filipino remittances, credit surety fund, institutional partner for microfinance, BSP PhilPass remit project for overseas Filipinos, clean note policy campaign, Pagtugon Award and recognition of best information campaign partner.
Most awardees came from the public and private sectors based in the National Capital Region.
