Iloilo crime incidents drop-A A +A

ILOILO CITY -- Crime incidents here and in the Iloilo province drop significantly in July to August this year as compared to the same period in 2011, a police official said.
A report submitted by the regional police office and signed by Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., showed that there is a decline of criminalities in the provinces of Antique and Capiz but a slight increase in the provinces of Aklan and Guimaras.
The report also showed that Iloilo City went down from 30.75 average monthly crime rate in July-August 2011 to only 19.32 of the same months in 2012. The province of Iloilo posted 4.77 as compared to 5.87 monthly crime rate in 2011.
The province of Negros drastically lowered to 4.77 average monthly crime rate as compared to its record of 30.75 in 2011 of the same months. However, Bacolod City posted an increase by 30.36 as compared to 27.48 in 2011.
Aklan posted 14.14 average crime rate as compared to 13.20 record in 2011, Guimaras with 7.87 as compared to 6.98 crime rate in 2011.
The police report also showed a drop of crimes against person covering murder, homicide, physical injury and rape at 216 in January to August 2012 as compared to 249 cases in 2011 and 574 in 2010 in the same period.
Crime against property covering robbery, theft, carnapping and cattle rustling posted 304 in January to August 2012 as compared to 593 in 2011 and 2,238 in 2010.
Posted crime solution efficiency in crime against person and property is more than 51 percent.
