THE citywide Homemakers Association Savers and Builders Cooperative, boasting more than 900 members, will receive a P1 million grant from the Coop Napco partylist as funding support for their projects.
Wilfredo Jurilla, executive director of the Iloilo City Urban Poor affairs Office (Icupao), said the grant was assured by Emmanuel Solis Jr., Napco national president, during the coop’s second general assembly meeting and anniversary held at the Fundidor gym in Molo district on Thursday, September 13.
Jurilla said the homeowners are mostly Icupao onsite and relocation site beneficiaries in the city who organized themselves and blossomed into a cooperative.
On hand to welcome the guests headed by Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Zambales Representative Mitos Magsaysay and former senator Ernest Maceda are Iloilo City Councilors Joshua Alim, Lyndon Acap, Plaridel Nava, RLeone Gerochi and Rodel Fullon Agado.
The event also coincided with the birthday of Alim, whom Estrada identified as the city official coordinator of political parties PMP and PDP Laban.
