CCTV camera council adopts policies for cameras, monitors

THE CCTV Camera Council of Iloilo City is adopting a resolution to signal the full implementation of the City Council ordinance on closed circuit television (CCTV) in establishment.
The resolution adopted last September 18, 2012 shows policies and procedures manual setting up the criteria and standard for CCTV cameras and procedures mandated to be installed in high risk establishments within the territorial jurisdiction of Iloilo City.
Covered establishments must install analog or IP cameras to capture customer transaction and activities at premises and any point of entrance and or exit including the car park.
However, cameras and recorders shall not be installed in toilets or comfort rooms and inside hotel rooms.
Officers of the CCTV Camera Council are city councilor Nielex Tupas as chairman, Iloilo city police office chief Marietto Valerio as co-chairman and members OIC City Engineer Karl Quimsing, Engineer Dyjee Gallega of the National Telecommunication Commission, Oscar Chua of the Philippine-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Joe Marie Agriam of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Iloilo, and Francis Sio of the Philippine-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
