City Hall opens dining area for employees

GOOD news to City Hall employees here -- a mess hall for employees to be used during lunch and snack time is now opened.
Inaugurated on October 17, the mess hall is located on the third floor of the new building with an initial 30 tables for employees who brought their lunch boxes and snacks.
Building Administrator Victor Facultad said some six ambulant food vendors who cater to City Hall employees for several years, are given priority to occupy a space at the mess hall for a very nominal fee. These are vendors who carry food items packed in plastic bags and sold to employees.
However, the vendors must secure health certificate at the city health office as food handlers and must register with the office of the building administrator to get an identification card (ID) so that security guards will allow them to enter the lobby up to the third floor.
On the other hand, Facultad said carinderia or cafeteria owners who wanted to serve food to the employees may apply at his office. These are stall owners who must also secure health certificate, ID cards and must pay a monthly rental of the space for food display and catering.
