‘Luces in the Sky’ colors Dinagyang evenings

WORLD-class pyrotechnic shooters will vie for honors as the best fireworks displayer in the country as “Luces in the Sky” reels in January 24 and 27 behind the SM City area along the diversion road.

Fourteen group shooters from outside Iloilo City will compete in the said pyrotechnic competition.

Nomer Chavez of the “Luces in the Sky” committee, however, said that no participant from Iloilo City will compete in the event, adding that only those firework shooters from Cabuyao, Laguna; Baliuag, Bulacan, Taytay, Rizal; Cebu and Davao were allowed to register for the competition.

Prizes include P120,000 for the champion shooter, P80,000 for the first runner-up and P20,000 for each group.

“Luces in the Sky” is an important event for the past 12 years during the 45-year-old Dinagyang Festival celebration, Chavez said.
