GOVERNOR Arthur Defensor Sr. turned over on Tuesday the checks for the establishment of five new multi-purpose teen centers in Iloilo province.
With a budget of P300,000 each, the five new teen centers will be established at Don Felix Serra National High School in San Joaquin, Santa Barbara National Comprehensive High School in Sta. Barbara, Janiuay National Comprehensive High School in Janiuay, Banate National High School in Banate and Cawayan National High School in Carles.
Once completed, there will be 15 multi-purpose teen centers in Iloilo province.
Inspired by the positive impact brought by the first batch teen centers, Defensor later added P100,000 for each of the second batch teen centers making its budget P300,000.
Defensor lauded Provincial Population Office chief Ramon Yee for initiating the project which, he said, could benefit a lot of students in the province.
The establishment of multi-purpose teen centers aims to contribute to the empowerment and development of adolescents and youth by providing a venue and facility where they can develop their potentials as individuals. (PR)
