ABS-CBN network in Western Visayas region is set to find its new home by June 2014 from Luna, La Paz to a more spacious complex in Barangay Banuyao, also in La Paz district in Iloilo City.
Jerry O. Bennet, ABS-CBN regional network group head, said the new complex will be constructed at the cost between P30 million to P50 million on top of new and modern, state of the art broadcast and television equipment.
Bennet, during the groundbreaking rites on Thursday, said that the one-hectare lot will house the new studios, radio and TV productions, and SkyCable in a lot sold at a socialized price by the Javellana family.
The lot owner is a close relative of the Lopez family who owned the ABS-CBN network.
Chairman Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez, chairman of ABS-CBN, with other top officials of the network, spearheaded the groundbreaking rites along with Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Iloilo City congressman Jerry P. Treñas, City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III. (Lydia c. Pendon)
