ALL roads leading the airport in Western Visayas will have a rainbow color when a special project of the Department of Tourism (DOT) takes off before the end of the year.
DOT-Western Visayas Director Helen Catalbas said the project dubbed as “WV: Color it Rainbow” will count on the cooperation of officials of local government units and youth organizations especially in the barangays by planting flowery plants and croutons along the roads.
Catalbas said the plan will have the cooperation of the barangay people to beautify the roads with colors of one kind of plants and the next barangay with different color of another kind.
The DOT official said the project is easy, environmental-friendly, and needs minimal appropriation from the local government. The plants need not to be expensive but rather, the simple and endemic in the place with colors.
The plants will beautify the place and the roads leading to the airport and back and the barangay can be proud of contributing to beautify the region.
