ILOILO City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog is set to create and organize a new research and development office to establish a concrete demographic profile of the city.
He said, however, that instead of hiring new employees, he will task other City Government offices to work on the profile involving comprehensive survey on city households.
The city development planning office, under Jose Roni Peñalosa, will initially start the new office with the employees with no housing units.
Mabilog said the Commission on Audit (COA) has already permitted the sale of the City Government-owned lot in Pavia, Iloilo at P2,500 per square meter. It was earlier valued at P3,773.
He said the proceeds will be used to buy another property intended for the government employees who are the original recipients of the low cost housing project.
Meanwhile, the new office will also conduct a survey of the employee-recipient as beneficiary of the housing project of the city. (LCP)
