Transport group to experiment PBO-A A +A

ALEOSAN drivers and operators who are plying the routes of Alimodian, Leon, and San Miguel are planning to avoid entering Iloilo City next week as experiment in the implementation of the new comprehensive perimeter boundary ordinance (PBO).
The group members said that, instead of entering the city, they will remain at Mandurriao district’s terminal.
City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog also said he is going to support the experimental move to test the effectiveness of the PBO by not entering the city proper anymore.
However, City Councilor Plaridel Nava, who is the principal author of the PBO, said he is not aware of the experimental move of the drivers and operators.
Nava, who is also the SP committee chairman on transport, said the traffic system in the city can’t be changed overnight, because they have to consider the 10,000 jeepney drivers and operators in the province of Iloilo.
Also to be considered are the more than 11,000 trisikad and private vehicles drivers who want to ply and park in the city roads, Nava added.
