Dinopol takes over as new city legal officer-A A +A
Monday, September 16, 2013
LAWYER Daniel Dinopol will be the new Iloilo City Legal officer effective October 1, 2013 to take the position of resigned city legal officer Jose Junio Jacela.
Dinopol will bring in a fresh appreciation of law in the City Government being a legal practitioner for the past 20 years, including free legal assistance program of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
He is currently the chairman of the city’s People Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) and consultant of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro). He will present the interests of the City Government in all court cases that involve Iloilo City.
Jacela’s resignation on September 30 was spawned by the non-confirmation of his appointment by the City Council. He is a co-terminus official of Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
Mabilog was reelected by an overwhelming majority vote for his second term in the May 2013 elections and all co-terminus officials, namely, the city administrator and city legal officer will have to be re-appointed and confirmed by the City Council.
