Motor pool equipment transfers to Molo old slaughterhouse-A A +A
Thursday, September 19, 2013
MOTOR pool equipment and vehicles under repair will temporarily be transferred to the vacant slaughterhouse in Molo district to give way for other City Government-owned vehicles to use the facility along Delgado St., Iloilo City.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the transfer of some equipment and vehicles will also give way for the expansion of the dog pound at the motor pool area.
The old slaughterhouse in Molo was vacated recently as slaughtering and processing of meat of bigger animals such as cows and carabaos are being conducted at the new slaughterhouse in Tacas, Jaro district.
The slaughterhouse in Jaro is capable of processing more than 500 heads of hogs and 50 heads of big animals daily. The slaughterhouse was recently renovated and is set to be turned over to the City Government for operation and management.
Mabilog said he just wanted to maximize the services of the motor pool, which is under the City Engineer’s Office.
