THE Office of the City Assessor, in coordination with the Office of the City Mayor, honors top 10 senior high school students in 13 participating public high schools in Iloilo City in the campaign on tax information education.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog inspired the students by participating in the tax information program as future leaders and taxpayers of the country.
City Assessor Engr. Nelson Parreño said the awarding ceremony focused on enhancing tax consciousness among high school students through the tax information drive. Senior high school students underwent a series of written examinations to determine their understanding and appreciation of taxes as lifeblood of the nation.
Parreño said the campaign is line with the “womb to tomb” program of the mayor to develop the schools and tax consciousness among the students.
Assistant City Assessor Cheryl G. Chan said the program is now on its seventh year of bringing tax information to the students.
Chan also said the information drive started in young students by inculcating their obligation and responsibility in paying taxes to rev up the economic growth of the country.
