Cavite's Fr. Dizon passes away at 65-A A +A

FATHER Joe Dizon of the Diocese of Imus succumbed to complications from diabetes Monday night after combating the disease for 22 years.
In a report by CBCP News, Dizon died at 11:15 p.m. while confined at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in Quezon City.
According to the National Clergy Discernment Group (NCDG), of which Dizon was also a convenor, his remains will be brought to the San Roque Cathedral in Caloocan City Tuesday afternoon until Thursday.
The NCDG Secretariat said that from the Caloocan cathedral, Dizon's wake will be held at the Bishop's House grounds in Imus, Cavite.
Dizon is known as the convenor of groups such as KontraDaya, NCDG, Solidarity Philippines, and #abolishpork Movement.
Dizon is also one the church people that actively fought the martial law regime and known to be dedicated fighter for social justice.
"In his last days, he was at the forefront of the campaign to abolish the pork barrel system," noted the official news agency of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). (HDT/Sunnex)
