ILOILO Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. has invested P66-million for the development of the Representative Pedro Trono Memorial District Hospital (RPTMDH) in Guimbal town.
RPTMDH Administrator Dr. Raul Banias said the fund for the development of the hospital is part of the P300-million loan given by the Land Bank of the Philippines.
The financial aid will be used for the construction of emergency rooms, administrative and dietary offices, and perimeter fence, among others.
The bidding process for all the facilities was already done and the construction work will start within the month.
RPTMDH Chief Dr. Rafael Sabando said that the newly inaugurated facilities cost P6.5-million with funds coming from the hospital’s PhilHealth proceeds.
“With these facilities, we can now accommodate more patients and improve our services to satisfy their needs,” Sabando added.
He said the hospital has an average daily admission of 85 but currently has a 50-bed capacity. It will be expanded to 75 by next year.
Banias said the province has invested more than P900 million for its hospitals since 2010.
