30 to join 2014 Dinagyang Pyrofest

A TOTAL of 30 participants will vie for cash prizes in the 4th Luces in the Sky 2014 competition slated from January 23 to 24, 2014.

Luces committee chairman Edwin Trompeta said the first 15 entries will be scheduled to shoot and display on January 23 and the other 15 entries on January 24.

The participants for fireworks display are Zea Sandy Fireworks from Puerto Princesa, Palawan; Sentak Marketing in Iloilo City; CRH Enterprises from Cabuyao City, Laguna; Pick-up Shop in Iloilo City; One Hexis Enterprises in Iloilo City; Iloilo Society Commercial in Iloilo City; V Lebrilla Fireworks from Cabuyao, Laguna; Golden Js Fireworks from Bocaue, Bulacan; Extacy Firworks from Bocaue, Bulacan and Scorpion Iloilo fireworks in Iloilo City.

Participants for the Luces in the Sky are Digispec Fireworks, St. Michaels, Wahing, Frenz’m, Sanicom, DSS Fireworks, LF, Rambolet, Pyroheaven, Bathna’s, Al Aquino, Pyro Creation, E & B, Legend, Tsing Tang, Sky Intensity, MYmona, Jamels, Avila and Diamond fireworks.

Trompeta said the prizes are P120,000 for the first, P100,000 for the second, P80,000 for the third and P40,000 each subsidy for all entries. All entries will have a minimum of five minutes of fireworks display.

The contest is part of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival.

Meanwhile, on January 25, a total of 11 groups mostly from the provinces outside Iloilo, will participate in the Kasadyahan mardi gras competition, said Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation President Ramon Cua Locsin.

Locsin said the regional festivals will come from the provinces of Aklan with its Kalibo ati-atihan group, Halaran from Roxas City, Capiz, Masskara from Bacolod City, two other groups from Negros Occidental, Hugyaw, Pan-ay and the group from Panay Institute of Electronics, all from Iloilo City and Saad from the municipality of Leganes, Iloilo.

The winner for the parade contest will get P120,000 cash prize.
