City assures fast land classification-A A +A
Wednesday, February 19, 2014
THE zoning unit of the city planning and development office (CPDO) in Iloilo City has assured a fast release of certificate of land classification without resorting to land inspection anymore.
Project development officer Bonifacio Baclagon of the CPDO said the applicant can wait for a few minutes for their land certification provided that all required documents are submitted.
On Tuesday, the zoning unit was lambasted in a session by councilor Eduardo Peñaredondo for the long delay of his requested certification of land classification. However, Baclagon said there is no reason for the delay as long as the required documents were submitted.
The documents include a request letter addressed to CPDO chief Jose Roni Peñalosa, transfer certificate of land title, latest tax declaration, updated real property tax payment receipt and lot plan, and vicinity map with a scale of 1:10,000 duly singed by a licensed geodetic engineer.
Baclagon said his office does not make a vicinity map and the applicant will have to look for a private geodetic engineer to make the lot scale of 1:10,000 that will fit in the office’ scale map.
After all the requirements are met, the documents were forwarded to Peñalosa, who signed the certification as official zoning evaluator. The whole process will not take more than 15 minutes if the applicant submitted all the requirements, he said.
Peñaredondo said the City Council may investigate the zoning unit of the CPDO for its failure to help the applicants seek fast and accurate service that defeats the objective of being a business-friendly city.
