ALL stakeholders are reminded of the scheduled closure of Montinola Bridge along Simon Ledesma St. in Jaro district due to bridge retrofitting and rehabilitation.

The Traffic Management and Transport Regulation Office is devising temporary alternative routes for vehicles coming from the central and northern parts of Iloilo, which may pass along the circumferential road, radial road and costal road in going to the city and back.

District Engineer Rodney Gustilo of the Department of Public Works and Highways said the retrofitting works will strengthen the bridge foundation and will take about 90 days work in the lower portion of the bridge.

Rehabilitation works in the upper portion will only take less than one month and traffic will resume on regulated scheme immediately.

The odd-even scheme will be implemented for private vehicles while exempted are public utility vehicles, government vehicles and ambulances.
