Tuesday, April 1, 2014
THE Provincial Government of Iloilo and the SM City Iloilo will hold a fun run on April 9 to help the homeless typhoon survivors in northern Iloilo.
The event, dubbed as “Dalagan sa Kaadlawan,” is one of the highlights of 113th founding anniversary of the province of Iloilo on April 11.
Ray Cabarles, of Public Information and Community Affairs Office (Picao), said the registration is ongoing at the SM City Iloilo and at the 2nd floor of the Provincial Capitol.
“Hopefully, we are expecting at least 2,000 participants province-wide for both the 3K and 5K run,” Cabarles said.
He said a registration fee of P150 will be collected for those who will join the 3k run category and P250 for those who will join the 5k run category. A P250 fee will be collected for those who wanted to get a singlet.
Capitol employees, who will join the 3K run category, will only pay P100.
“We are encouraging everyone to help the families of the typhoon survivors by joining in this fun run,” Cabarles said.
“All of the proceeds from this event will be turned over to SM Cares-Gaward Kalinga Project for Super Typhoon Yolanda victims in Brgy. Bakhawan Sur, Concepcion town,” he added.
The run will start at 5:30 a.m. and will take the following route: SM City Iloilo (assembly area) – Pison Avenue – San Rafael Rotunda – Benigno Aquino Ave. – Taft North junction – SM City Iloilo (finish line).
The winners of the fun run will get P1,500 and P2,500 cash prizes for the 3k and 5k run categories, respectively. (PIO)
