P50-M allocated for Iloilo road, bridge rehab

ILOILO Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. has released P50 million for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of four bridges and 20 dilapidated roads in the province.
 
The project aimed to improve the economic condition and accessibility of the public to government’s services and to easily transport goods from farm to market and vice versa.

For the first district, P2.25 million will be spent for the Damilisan-Igbogo Road in Miagao, P1.5 million for Leon-Omambong-Cordova Road in Tigbuan, P1.135 million for Buluangan Bridge in Guimbal, P530,000 for Naclub and Solong Bridge in Miagao, P535,000 for Anhawan Bridge in Oton, and P2.250 million for Parara Jamog Road in Tigbuan.
 
For the second district, P1.5 million was allocated for Leon-Omambong Road in Leon, P3 million for Jibao-an Pavia Road in Pavia, P2.250 million for San Miguel–Solong-Sinamay Road in Alimodian, and P2.250 million for Zarraga-Libongcogon Road in Zarraga.

For the third district, P1.5 million will be spent for Poblacion Lambunao Misi Road, P800,000 for Nabitasan Bailey Bridge in Pototan, P3 million for Jelicoun-Amiroy-Mira Road in Mina, 1.5 million for Tabucan-Consolacion-San Miguel Road in Cabatuan, and P3 million for Janiauy Poblacion Bongol-Tambal.

For the fourth district, P10 million was allocated for Balabag-Sulangan Road in Dumangas, P1.5 million for Tinocuan-Purog-Maribuyong Road in Dueñas, P1.5 million for Lublub-Tambulian Road in Dumangas, and P1.5 million for Duenas-Cabudian-Carvasana Road.
 
For the fifth District, P1.5 million was set aside for Santiago-Sto. Tomas-Vista Alegre Road in Barotac Viejo, P3 million for Lanjagan-Taguhangin Road in Ajuy, and P1 million for Lemery Poblacion-Milan-Marapal Road in Lemery.

Once finished, the project is also expected to reduce road accidents and shorten travel time by about one hour.   
 
The construction work of the roads and bridges will be supervised by the Provincial Engineers Office and is set to be completed by the end of the year. (PIO)
