P360M allocated for Western Visayas cash-for-work

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Western Visayas is releasing a total of P361.62 million for the cash-for-work program for 84 local government units in the region.

DSWD spokesperson Judith Barredo said the program started rebuilding this year the community livelihood assets in five provinces in the region affected by Typhoon Yolanda last year.

The provinces include Capiz with 17 local government units (LGUs) of 1,000 beneficiaries each town with P4.3 million per town; Aklan with 17 LGUs of 1,000 beneficiaries each town with P4.3 million per town; Iloilo with 31 LGUs, specifically northern Iloilo of 1,000 beneficiaries each town with P4.3 million per town; Antique with 12 LGUs of 1,000 beneficiaries each town with P4.3 million per town; and Negros Occidental with seven LGUs of 1,000 beneficiaries each town with P4.3 million.
