THE Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy more than 10,000 police personnel to provide security and to ensure the peace and order during the State of the Nation Address (Sona) of President Benigno Aquino III, a police official said Wednesday.

PNP Public Information Chief Reuben Theodore Sindac said the PNP Super-Task Force "Kapayapaan 2014", which is composed of four task forces has been activated under the supervision of The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) headed by Police Director Carmelo Valmoria.

Sindac said that as the commander of the Super-Task Force Kapayapaan 2014, Valmoria will directly supervise the conduct of all coordination with concerned law enforcement agencies, security preparations and operations in Metro Manila.

The four divisions were the Task Force Anti-Criminality, Task Force Antabay, Task Force Rimland and Task Force Reserve.

Task Force Anti-Criminality will be responsible in imposing the law enforcement operations and for maintenance of peace and order to achieve the zero-crime incident in Metro Manila during the event while the Task Force Antabay will look over the rapid deployment of personnel and intervention as the need arises.

Task Force Rimland will manage the deployment of security personnel, civil dicturbance management teams, traffic management and control and other police public safety services in Metro Manila and Task Force Reserve will be responsible for the deployment of the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) Reserve Forces which is primarily composed of Regional Headquarters Support Group, Regional Special Task Unit and other personnel assigned in the different Regional Directorial Staff and Regional Support Unit.

"In order to prevent the occurrence of violent incidents that may disrupt the conduct of Sona, there is a need for the PNP to intensify and sustain law enforcement, security and public safety operations before, during and after the event," PNP chief Director General Alan La Madrid Purisima said in a statement.

On Monday, July 28, Aquino will deliver his fifth Sona at the House of the Representatives in Quezon City before the second regular session of the 16th congress. It will be attended by top ranking government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and other VIPs.

Meanwhile, around 3,000 police personnel will be deployed as the religious group, Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), celebrates its centennial anniversary, which will held at the Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria Multi-purpose Complex in Bocaue, Bulacan.

On Monday, the Philippine Arena, considered as the "world's biggest Multi-purpose domed arena", which can accommodate 55,000 individuals was formally opened. INC executive minister Brother Eduardo Manalo and Aquino led the inauguration.

Ciudad de Victoria is owned by the INC and operated by its educational institution, the New Era University.

Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, head of the Bulacan Police, said since Friday, they have been conducting security rehearsals and deployment for the peace and order during the religious event.

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino said they will also setup two command centers for Task Force Sentenaryo -- one in Marilao Bulacan and another in Bocaue Bulacan to assist the traffic situation and the crowd.

Tolentino said all local government units in Metro Manila have also pledged to help and send 50 traffic enforcers each for the crowd control as well as for the management of the motorist traveling along North Luzon Expressway (NLEx).

Two ambulances, a single fire truck, three to five police patrol cars to assist in rescue and security and dump trucks to help clean up all the mess after the event will also be positioned in the event area.

In sum, 2,000 MMDA personnel will be participating for the security and orderliness of the event. (Sunnex)
